Slab Flattening

This beast of a machine allows us to flatten slabs and epoxy pours in a fraction of the time.

Watch below as it takes a slab of Cedar and flattens it in no time!

With a 6” router head this slab flattening machine can work much faster than using a homemade router sled. It can also flatten slabs that are either too big or too heavy for a planer.

We can flatten slabs up 15 ft long by 6 ft wide.

This is an epoxy pour coffee table that we flattened. The epoxy overpour ran over the wood and needed to be taken off so the wood shows through. What a neat piece!

This Live Oak slab was (and still is) crazy heavy. While it could fit inside our planer it would have been a workout to attempt to get this slab flattened on both sides.

This slab of Siberian Elm had lots of cupping and a bit of twisting plus being just a hair too wide for the planer the flattening table was the best way to flatten both sides.
